PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
GBA participated as part of a consultant team in a detailed review and evaluation of Port Authority policy and strategy for meeting the needs of the New York - New Jersey Harbor for maintenance and new work dredged material disposal.
GBA SERVICES:
- Dredging Analysis and Cost estimate for Kill Van Kull Channel and Newark Bay with Elizabeth Channel. Developed Alternate Dredging and Disposal Methods to Provide Substantial Savings (nearly $1 billion) on the Proposed Deepening Project.
- A dredging, Cost Analysis, and Review of Contract Documents for Newark Bay Confined Disposal Facility (NBCDF). GBA Cost Estimate was $15.4 Million, the Low Bid was $15.2 Million.
- Led a Team of Skilled Professionals in the Performance of Geophysical/Geotechnical Investigations in the NY Harbor for the NY District USACE and for the PA NY&NJ. These Investigations Include Seismic Measurements in Conjunction with Hydrographic Measurements for Identifying Top of the Rock, Geotechnical Analysis of Area 4A Including Core Analysis and Sub-Bottom Profiling, and Various Subsurface Geophysical Explorations Through Core Borings for the USACE.
- Performed a Sub-Channel Placement (SCP) Study for Dredge Material at Various New York Harbor Terminals and Channels. Tasks Included Performing Sedimentation Modeling and Analysis.
